In the EFDS, companies in the surface and thin-film industry as well as their development service providers and suppliers of materials, systems and components work together on future-oriented technologies and products within the framework of joint industrial research and to promote science and research as well as education in the field of surface technologies “thin films”.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Board of Directors and the Executive Board jointly coordinate the association in close consultation for all strategic, conceptual and operational matters.<\/p>\n

The Scientific Advisory Board advises the EFDS on its professional and content-related orientation. The advisory boards have exceptional expertise and a proven reputation in the technology fields of the EFDS. Together with the technical committees, they ensure the level of excellent innovation-oriented research in the projects.<\/p>\n

EFDS conducts innovation-oriented research projects in cooperation with external research institutions and industrial companies.
