Dresden, November 2024 – The European Society of Thin Films (EFDS) and the Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) have sealed a strategic partnership to further expand international cooperation in the fields of coating and vacuum.

This cooperation combines the expertise of two leading organizations from Europe and the USA. The aim is to promote forward-looking innovations in coating and thin-film technology and to strengthen synergies between science, industry and technology in the long term.

The cooperation focuses in particular on the exchange of specialist knowledge, the development of joint projects and the support of companies and research institutions in both regions. In the future, EFDS and SVC will work closely together to drive the industry forward with new impetus and ensure the competitiveness of the players involved worldwide.

“This partnership is an important step towards strengthening the dynamism and innovative power of our industry globally,” explains Udo Klotzbach, Managing Director of EFDS. “By pooling our resources and expertise, we can both drive technological breakthroughs and build a bridge between the continents.”

SVC is also delighted with the collaboration: “The cooperation with EFDS opens up exciting opportunities for us to further develop knowledge and technologies in vacuum and thin-film technology on a global level,” says Frank Zimone, President of SVC.

With this partnership, EFDS and SVC are sending a strong signal for an internationally networked and future-oriented industry. Further details on joint projects and events will be announced in the coming months.
