In honour of Professor Dr. Rudolf Jaeckel's great services to vacuum physics and other fields supervised by the DVG, the DVG has awarded the "Rudolf Jaeckel Prize of the German Vacuum Society" annually since 2006.
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the fields of science and technology supervised by the DVG, the Rudolf Jaeckel Prize is awarded this year to Dr. Karl Jousten, Head of Department 7.5 Heat and Vacuum at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt.
